Supt install a sink in the council chambers for use of cooking schools and charge

~~~onthly reports of the Dump Ground, City Judge, City Recorder, ana Library were
read, accepted and ordered placed on file. Pad°ment of the Dump r7round being subject
to approval by the Chief of Police.
A delegation of business men were present to recuest the City to approve an
expenditure of x,400.00 far material for the stage of the proposed ~lizabethian Theatre
on the site of the Ch4utauqua Building. Prof. I. Tom'. Fining spoke at length on the
proposal, urging approval. There was some discussion, finally resulting in a mn,tion
by Ingle that the City approve an expenditure of not to exceed ~p400.00 for material
for constructing the stG.ge of the proposed Elizabethian Theatre and that the 4th of
July Committee pay to City all excess revenues from the 4th of July celebration and
make are accounting to the City. Seconded by Hansen. Roll Call was ordered, the vote 5 lea s 0 Carried. being Ayes , y
A petition from business men requesting the right to sell small fire-crackers,
July 1 to 4th inclusive was read. Following, discussions it was ,-.loved by Hansen that
the request f'or fire-crackers be granted and the ordinance concerning; same be amended
to conform to the State Law. Seconded 'by Blake. Carried.

City to send r:Qr. Hosler, eater Supt. to the convention at Lewiston, Idaho was read.
Moved by Wenner that the matter be referred to the Water Committee for action. Sec-
onded by Hansen. Carried.
A letter from r7. 0. Wilkins, lawyer, ~~edford, concerning sale of some timber
land to the City was read. Following a brief discussion, it was ^~oved by ~~enner that
~Ir. ~+ilkins be advised that the City was not interested. Secondea by Ingle. Carried. ~ryx
Bills amounting to X6104.74 were read as to total amount only, same having been
oked by the Finance Committee. 1~Qoved, seconded and unanimously carried that the
' bills be allowed.

Fire: The question of disposing of the ,ambulance and turning over the ambulance -

as suggested. Seconded by Gregg. Carried.
T'~e City ~{ttorney sported on the alley in rear of Fortmiller's Store which
had beeA closed by G. S. Butler by putting posts to stop all traffic. the offer of
~p Mr. French to deed a portion of a roar. back to the city and the road through R~rs.

_R.e_al~tY; The question of housing was discussed. J. ?i. Fuller reported that. the house at the corner of N. Main and Sheridan Streets had been
selected as a
suitable one for the Federal p;ousing Project. IIe stated that. the County was willing
to co-operate with the City and resit tuxes if the City would. remit their portion.
Following a discussion, it was moves by ~y~`enner that the City put in its eouity on this
property at ~~100.00 to be used in the ~~'eaeral Housing Hdministration project and to
advanQe X50.00 for the deed and abstract to the property whin: was to be held by
the City as trustee and the City agree to distribute the proceeds from the sale of s' the property on a prorata basis with the other contributors,
the City to share on
the basis of150.00 for its portion. Seconded by Blake. Carried.

7' Biegel reported on the costs of re-plastering the ceiling of the City Hall as

Biegel reported on delinquent irrigation customers and reaa a proposed letter
eoncernin ra ment of delinquent bills in connection with current bills. r~o fiction g~ y
was taken: it being suggestec, that the same method as used in collectin~~ domestic
v~tater be adhered to, viz, current bill ~~lus 2 of that Umaunt in addition on the
arrears.
' The City Attorney reported on negotiations ~~~ith the r'orestry Dept for the road
F~ in the water shed land.

The City ~ ttorne'vj reported on unsanitary condition of lots on CTranite street
known as the Payne, J. ~~I. Wagner and Cates lots and the necessity far fencing.
Biegel reported the cost oi' fencing to be _~r~out X65.00. It w4s thought the Cates
property could be bought i'or X25.00. ?Toved by ~denner that th~~ City Attorney proceed
to obtain the Cates property at '25.00. Seconded ~by Gregg. Carried.

On motion, the council adjourned at 12:00 midnight to meet ut the call of the
Mayor.
Immediately following adjournment, the council re-convened in executive session

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Monthly reports of the :street, Light and 'rater departments :ere read, accepted
and ordered placed on file.
Riegel reported on the I'ortmiller alley, stating than. same did not belong to
the City.
A letter from H. B. Carter concerning a leak in the septic tank on ~rrountain
4venue was read. ]ls. Carter was present and he and Hosier, grater Supt, spoke concerning
its condition, and probably means of correcting same.
The following applications for building permits were presented;
No. 11. To rebuild a house at 115 Lincoln Street at an approximate cost of X800.00 by gym. Ross.
No. 12. To remodel front and tint inside of store of 142 East I4~ain Street at an
approximate cost of x;500.00, for Fortmiller's by Frank Jordan.
No. 13. To build a garage at 72 6th Street at an approximate cost of X150.00
by R. E. Gear~iart.
No. 14. To remodel d~~~elling at 96 Meade Street at an approximate cost of X500.00
by J. H. McGee.

V'dater; Hosier reported on the new pipe lisle.
Re~ alty: Hansen reported that the roof of the I,~ission on 4th Street was in very
bad condition and suggested that it be sold.
He also reported that.the Radio Glub ~~~.anted to use the Pioneer Building for
meetings.
Applewhite reported on the SERA. He stated that the water of W. J. Fields had
been shut off for non-payment anc._ that Fields had a large family. No action was
taken.
The City Attorney read a proposed ordinance on firecrackers. Moved by Ingle that
the rules be suspended and. the ordinance be passed to the second reading b y title
only. Seconded by Hansen. Carried. Having been read the second time it was moved by
Applewhite that the ordinance be adopted. Seconded by Hansen. Roll call was ordered
