The council met in adjourned session at '7 :30 P. ~b~. this date. Present : Mayor "v~iley, Councilmen Applewhite, Blake, Gregg, Hansen, Ingle,
'M~enner. Absent; None.
A proposed ordinance levying a tax for the year 1936 in the sum of X65,548.00
was read. Moved by ~~enner and seconded by Blake that tree rules be suspended and the
ordinance be passed to the second reading by title only. Carried. Following the
second reading, it eras moved by Blake and seconded by Hansen that the ordinance be
adopted as read. Roll call ~^a~ ordered on its adoption, the vote being, eyes 6,
k5' Nays 0. Thereupon the ~~Iayor declared the City Ordinance No. 949 adopted.
A proposed ordinance requiring the Recorder of the City of Ashland to notify the ~~~y
County Assessor and County Clerk of all delinquent special assessments and docketed
j~ city liens was read. Proved b~~ Blake and seconded by y~~enner that the rules be suspended
and the ordinance be passed to the second reading by title only. Following the second s:
reading, it was moved by Ingle and seconded b~,~ Hansen that the ordinance be adopted
as read. Roll call was ordered on its adoption, the vote being, Ayes 6, Nays 0.
Thereupon the Mayor declared City ordinance r?o. 950 adapted.
The City Attorney reported on the Henry Carter case .^~ith the City in connection
with the septic tank on lt~ountain Avenue, stating that he (Carter) was willing to
-0 arbitrate the matter.
The changing of the bond of Provost Bros. on the Pospital heating plant from a
surety bond of an approved surett~ company as specified in the specifications to a
a private bond was discussed. Loved by '~~enner that the requirement of the surety bond
being from a surety company be waived and a personal surety bond be accepted on the
Hospital heating plant contract. Seconded by Blake, Carried.
Hansen re orted that the radiators in the hos ital should be aimed t p p p ~n order o
match the new radiators ~~hich were being installed and stated that Provost Bros. would
do it for X3.00 per radiator. The matter eras referred to the City Superintendent for
action.
The Mayor stated that there being a full council present, he wanted to bring up
) the question of the recorder's salary and recommended that it be set at X150.00
retroactive to July 1st, 1935. After some discussion, it ~~as moved by Gregg that the
recorder's salary be set at x;150.00 per month retroactive to July 1, 1935. Seconded by Blake. Roll call was ordered, the vote being; Ayes: Blake,
Applewhite, Ingle, Hansen,
Gregg. Nays: ~~enner. Carried.

L~enner withdrew from the committee appointed to investigate accounting machines
and the Riayor appointed Crregg in his place.
bqr. 4'Jitng, auditor, spoke cn auditing the tax rolls at P~~edford, in order to see
that the City was getting its portion of tha interest. Loved by Ingle that ~-fir.
'P~hiting audit the tax rolls, same to be limited to one week. Seconded by Hansen.
Carried.
~~oved by Ingle that the commit+ee on accounting machines be given power to act.
Seconded by Hansen. Carried. It was moved by Applewhite and seconded by Greg~~ th~:t the City Superintendent be authorized to purchase the necessary
additional accounting sup-
plies, Carried.
The Associated Oil Co. lease ti~~as referred to the Kealty Committee and City Supt
for more definite information upon motion by Ingle, Seconded by Blake.
On motion, the council adjourned to meet at the call of the P,~ayor.

The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved <<s read.

The monthly report of the dump Ground for the month of October was read, accepted
and ordered placed on file.
Bills amounting; to X8669.88 were read as to total amount only, same having been
oked by the Finance Committee. Motion was made and secondea that the bills be allowed. Roll call was ordered, the vote being Ayes 41 Nuys 0. Carried.
