M. this date. Present: Mayor ,Y Wiley, Councilmen Applewhite, B]~ke, Gregg, Hansen, Ingle, ~'Jenner. Absent : None. Reading of the minutes of the last meetings were dispensed with. r v-",, p.- . ~,z;S... Monthly reports of the Electric, 'dater and Street Departments were read, accepted and ordered placed on file. A bill for33.72 for stamped envelops for the Electric and tiV~ter Departments in favor of the Postmaster was upon motion by tiVenner, seconded by Blake, carried. }nA A letter from the Ashland Chamber of Commerce concerning~.wood yards on North 1+4" and East Main streets was read, same being in the form of a resolution. Realt :Hansen reported that the sale of the house on East Main Street which had been so o Mrs. Alice Smith would have to be cancelled and wanted the return of 10.00 on~the price paid dawn. Upon motion bit Applewhite, seconded by Wenner, payment of X10.00 was authorized out of the emergency account of the General Fend and the receipt issued to Mrs. Smith be returned t~ the City. ' ' The rent of the X-Ray machine as an addition to the Hospital rent was dis- cussed, but no action was taken. k Mrs. Scott was present and asked to address the council. She stated that she wanted to have permission for the 2nd Townsend Club to meet on Thursday of each week at the City Hall. The matter was referred to the Finance Committee with power to act. A delegation from the Valley Vmew District was present and asked the City to x~.~Y' pass a resolution recommending to the County Court the so-called direct route from ~x~; Valley View district to thePacific Highway. The City Attorney read the proposed re- solution which he had prepared forthe purpose. Moved by Wenner that the rues be suspended and the resolution passed to the second reading by title only. Seconded by Hansen. Carried. Following the second reading, it was moved by Applewhite that the resolution be adopted as read, seconded by Blake. Roll call was ordered on its adoption, the vote being, Ayes 6, Nays 0. Thereupon the Mayer declared the resolution adopted. The City Attorney reported that the State Banking Department had requested an extension of 120 days more on the clearing of the title to the Pompadour Mineral Springs. the property to be in the same condition as before. Moved by ~►lenner that the extension ~i 120 days be granted. Seconded by Gregg. Carried Mr. Whiting and the Recorder reported on the interview with Mr. Starr, State Auditor, Salem. An ordinance creating a special fund to be known as the Sewage Disposal Fund and the transfer of 20,000.00 to same from the Electric Light Find was read by the ~ City Attorney. Moved by Ingle that the rules be suspended and the ordinance passed to ~ttYie ~ second reading by title only. Seconded by Hansen. Carried. Following the second reading, it was moved by Wenner that the ordinance be adopted as read. Seconded by Gregg. Roll call was ordered on:.its adoption, the vote being, Ayes 6, Nays 0. Carried. Thereupon the Mayor declared City Ordinance No. 952 adopted. Several bills in connection with the Sewa a Dis osal Plant were resented b g p p y s the City Attorney. Moved. by Wenner and seconded by B1aI~e that the bills be allowed. Roll call was ordered, the vote being Ayes 6, Nays, 0. Carried. Mr. Perry Bentley asked that the. City grant him a reduction in his delinquent ,a water bill, stating that- he had ordered it cut off. The matter was referred to the City Superintendent. Mr. L~~ng reported that the hospital heating plant was about complete and that the X30.00 additional on the contract for installing the tank was approved by the Com- mittee. The City Attorney reported that the clock belonging to the hospital had been E returned. Applewhite reported on the air port, stating that the grant of 12.150.00  originally given had been taken away. Moved by Ingle that the Air Port Committee draw up a project for an air port runway. Seconded by Wenner. Carried. On motion, the council adjourned to meet at 5: 00 P. M. Nov. 21, 1935. Mayor Attest:
