Present: Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Applewhite, Blake, Gregg, Ingle, ~"lenner. Absent: Councilman Har.~en. The purpose of the meeting was to amend the minutes to show that meetings which had been previously designated ss special meetings were in reality adjourned meetings. The minutes under consideration were of the foll~vuing dates, Oct. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, I5 and 21 st. Moved by Wenner that the minutes of the dates designated be amended so as to con- form to the facts. Seconded by Blake. Carried. The City Attorney read a proposed ordinance providing for the issuance of bonds of q the City of Ashland in the sum of 27,000,00 and providing a sewage disposal bond sink- . j ing fund. t Moved by Wenner that the rules be suspended and the ordinance be passed to the second reading. by title only. Seconded by Gregg. Carried. Following the second reading, it was moved by Blake and seconded by ~"dnner that the ordinance be adopted as read. Roll call was ordered on its adoption, the vote being Ayes 5, Nays 0. Thereupon the Mayor declared the ordinance No. 953 adopted. Upon motion by Blake, the council ad journed to meet at the call of the Mayor at 8:00 A. ~L, December 2, 1935. Seconded by ~Yenner. Councilman Gregg left after the reading of the first bid. Two contractors presented sealed bids f'or tli~ work:viz Dunn and faker, I:lamath falls, Oregon Ek and Lind, Portland, Oregon Detailea estimates prepared by each contractor were read and tabulated and following some discussion, the figures vrere ta'~;en down to the r~ecorder~s Office and the total bid of each determined later to be a~ follows: Dunn and 3al~.er 7,231.95 , and Lind,------------------------------------ 7'7,200.35 I~~', u~hitin~; presented Order°s for ransfez~s Nos. 11 to 20 inclusive to "~enner, Chairman, I'inanee Committee, for consideration b~T the nouncil. Kirkpatrick be referred to the vWater Committee with powe° to act. The motion carried, Ayes: Six. Nays: None. The following reports were read, accepted-, and placed on file: Dump Ground. Park, September and October. City Judge for September. Carried. 3 The Recorder was excused by the ~,~ayor on acco,~r~t oi' illness in his family. The City Attorney was directed by the ~~ayor to act as Recorder in I;eeping~ the minutes. Cou~rnittee Reports: rinance Oammittee: A written report, concerning the conb.ition of the F'ecorderTs office, signed by ~~enner and Hansen, ~Fras react. Gregg explained he had not signed the report because he did not feel sufficiently far~~iliar vrith the affairs of the Recorders office to sign a report .thereon. It was moved by Ai;plewhite and seconded try Ingle tY~at the report be a~cep- ted and placed on file. Motion carried. dir. Apple~•r~iite presented a Resolution that was read to the Cou.ricil preferring certain charges aainst type City Recox°der and setting December I0, 1935, at 7:30 P. in the Council "hambers as a tide and place for a hearing on said charges. There was considera~le discussion. It was moved by `~fenner anc~ secon~.ec by Ingle that the rules be suspended ana the Resolution tie passed to second reading bar title only. b~otion carried. Ayes: Five, Days: One. The Resolution eras then read by title only. It was moved by '~~enner and seconded by Apple~r~hite that the Resolution be adopted as read. ~'oll was called on the Resolution, the vote being, eyes: Applewhite, 31ar~e, Greg;;, Hansen, Ingle and y~enner. hays: Hone. Blectric Light Committee: City Superintendent reported that the roof on tY~e ~~ity u~are- house eras lear:in and needed re air.
