ROLL CALL: The regular meeting of the Ashland City Council was called to order at 7:50 p.m. on the above date in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Ashland. Councilman Roble was absent due to illness; other council members were present. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: On Page 4 of the minutes of the regular meetin~ of December 7, 1971, Willstatter wanted it spelled out that he felt the College should initiate any proceedings to vacate Palm Avenue. Also, on Page 5, paragraph 2, Willstatter wanted it pointed out that it was his understanding the Revenue Steering Committee would be able to function until the end of February. ~' The Mayor approved the minutes of the regular meeting of December 7, as amended, and the minutes oflthe adjourned meeting o{ December 16, 1971, and placed them on file. III. 'DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS: Conklin moved that the departmental reports for the month of November, 1971, be accepted and placed on file. McCarnlon seconded. On voice vote, passed. STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: A. Finance and Property Committee: RobeTts stated that a request had been received from the A.E.D.C. to expend $~89.S0 to enclose sa industrial site on Misteltoe Read with security fencin[. The property involved was the old cotton mill, and there was a problem with people dumping garbage at this lot~Stion; therefore, the committee recommended that the re__st be granted. .-1- .egular Meeting AShlmnd City Council December Z1, 1971 (continued) Conklin asked whether the amount requested by the A.E.D.C. included labor or materials only. Alsing stated it would be for material onl , with the work to be done by City crews. Conklin felt t~is should be included in the request and be accounted for in the budget. Soaerberg noted this was City-owned property. Willstatter said this money would be out of business licensing funds, and the City should be paid for the labor as well.
