SECTIONS 14.04.040 AND 14.08,025 OF THE ASH-
LAND MUNICIPAL CODE; ADDING A N~q SECTION
14.04.040E TO THE ASHLAND MUNICIPAL CODE~ AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1954 and Section 14.04,040A
of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended by deleting the
words "and application for service is made within ten (10) years
of installation:" from the first paragraph thereof; and by substitut-
ing the following language for the last paragraph, which shall read
as follows:
"For properties outside the boundaries of a subdivision
where the subdivider has been required to install main
lines, the applicant for service shall pay to the City
the above service ~onnection charges. In addition, if
such connection is requested within ten (10) years of
installation of said main lines, the applicant shall
pay a fee of $575.00 to reimburse the subdivider for said
main, which fee shall be paid over by the City to the sub-
divider."
SECTION 2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1954 and Section 14.08,025A
of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended by deleting the
words "and application for service is made within ten (10) years
of installation" from the first paragraph thereof; and by substitut-
ing the following ~anguage for the last paragraph thereof, which
shall read as follows:
"For properties outside the boundaries of a subdivision
where the subdivider has been required to install trunk
lin~s, the applicant for service shall pay tothe City
the above lateral connection charges. In addition, if
such connection is requested within ten fl0) years of
installation of said trunk lines, the applicant shall
pay a fee of $340.00 to reimburse the subdivider for said
trunk line, which fee shall be paid over by the City to
the subdiVider."
SECTION 3. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1954 and Section 14.08.025A
of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended by increasing the
charge for a 4 inch lateral to $270.00.
SECTION 4. A new subsection E shall be ~dded to Section 14.04,040
of the Ashland Municipal Code, and shall read as follows:
"E. The charges for the reinstallation of meters and service
connections where service has been discontinued for sixty (~0)
or more shall be as follows:

SECTION 5. This ordinance shall become effective on July 1, 1978.
The foregoing ordinance was duly provided in accordance with
Article X, Section 2(c) of the Ashland City Charter; and was first
read by title only at a regular meeting of the City Council held
on the ~ day of y~nd'd , 1978, and PASSED to its second
reading by title onl uly ADOPTED at a regular meeting on the
City Recorder
