ORDINANCE NO. ~9~9
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AN ALLEY IN THE CITY OF ASHLAND, OREGON.
WHEREAS, Notice of the Public Hearing and proposed
vacation of the subject alley has been given in accord with
the provisions of Chapter 271 of the Oregon Revised Statutes,
and a public hearing held thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It is determined that the public interest
will be best served by the vacatipn of the alley located in the
City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon and more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of lot 1 of Chumas
Subdivision in the City of Ashland, Jackson CountX, Oregon, and
lying on the Westerly right of way of Sherman Street; thence
leaving said Westerly right of way, along the Northerly line of
lots 1, 2 and 3 of said Chumas Subdivision, West, 75.0 feet to
the Easterly line of lot 4 of said subdivision; thence North along
said Easterly line, 10.0 feet to the Southerly line of lot 5 of said
subdivision; thence East along said Southerly line 75.0 feet to the
Westerly right of way of Sherman Street; thence South, along said v
right of way 10.0 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. For the foregoing reasons the alley located on
the land described above in the preceding Section is hereby vacated.
The foregoing ordinance was first read on the 5th day of December,
1978, and duly PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of December, 1978.
