HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-42 Amend Pay PlanRESOLUTION NO. ~ ~/~ A RESOLUTION AM~,NDING THE PAY PLAN FOR MANAGEMI~NT AND CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOY~-P-S FOR FISCAL YEAR 1994-95. The wage adjustment for three of the City's five labor unions are established at the National CPI-W in the mount of 3.0 percent. The wage adjustment for the police and fire unions was increased by 4.5 percent as of July 1 and 4.5 percent as of January 1 (1993-94 for Firefighters). The electrical workers are in negotiations and the projected settlement will be at least the National CPI-W. Da It is the desire of the City to maintain its management pay plan at a level commensurate with its organized employees and with other jurisdictions when recruiting for management level positions. THE C1TY OF ASHLAND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The salary schedule in Resolution No. 93-27 is hereby modified by 3.0 percent with an additional 1.5 percent for middle management positions in the Police and Fire departments effective July 1, 1994, as set forth in Exhibit A. SECTION 2. The salary schedule in Exhibit A herein is modified by increasing the salary schedule for middle management positions in the Police and Fire Departments by 4.5 percent effective January 1, 1995, as set forth in Exhibit B. As has been our policy, we are now in a posifion to adopt a new schedule for the 37 non-union employees. The settlement for each of the labor unions as of July l, 1994 is as follows: Construction Laborers' Local 1400 IBEW Local 659 (Clerical/Tech) mEW Local 659 (Field) Teamsters' Locul 229 (Police) Firefighters' Local 2279 3.0% 3.0% *(not settled) (4.5% July 1, 4.5% lanuary 1) 3.0% (also received 4.5% luly 1/ 4.5% January 1, 1994 in arbitration settlement) The schedule as amended pluvides for a 3 percent adjustment effective July 1, 1994 for all positions with the excep~i~m~fmiddlenmagemmtp~~i~i~~sin~heP~liceandF~redqEm1m~swhich~avebeenadjus~edby4.5 percent and an additional 4.5 percent effective January 1, 1995. This will mainlain cuu=~t ~hry relationships. *Set at the same rate as PP&L employees which is not settled as of this date.
