AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 14.04.040,
14.08.025 AND 14.08.030 OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE WITH RESPECT TO WATER AND SEWER
CONNECTION CHARGES.
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:~
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2147 and Section 14.04.040 of
the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended to read as follows:
"14.04.040 Water service connection rate schedule. Water
service connection charges within the City limits shall be
as follows:
When water main was provided by a subdivider pursuant
to Chapter 18.80, or by persons other than the City of
Ashland:
3/4 inch service connection from main line
to and including meter. $510.00
1 inch service connection from main line
to ~ including meter. 595.00
1 1/2 inch service connection from main
line to and including meter. 835.00
2 inch service connection from main line
to ~ including meter. 985.00
3 inch and over service connection from
main line to and including meter. COST
For properties outside the boundaries of a subdivision or
a development where the subdivider or developer has been
required to install main lines, the applicant for service
shall pay to the City the above service connection charges.
In addition, if such connection is requested within ten (10)
year~ ~f inatall~tion of said main lines, the applicant
shall pay a fee of $715.00 to reimburse the subdivider or
developer for said main, which fee shall be paid over by
the City to the subdivider or developer.
Service Connections to all other water mains:
3/4 inch service connection from main
zI-i~ to and including meter. (flat rate) $1,225.00
1 inch service connection from main line
to and including meter. (flat rate) 1,310.00
1 1/2 inch service connection from main
line to and including meter. $835 plus $8.95 per front foot
2 inch service connection from main line
to ~ including meter. $985 plus $8.95 per front foot
3 inch and over service connection from
main line to and including meter. Actual service cost plus
$8.95 per front foot
A surcharge of $335.00 is required for service connections
where booster pumping is to be provided by the City.
The charges for the reinstallation of meters and service
connections where service has been discontinued for
sixty (60) days or more shall be as follows:
3/4 inch service $70.00
1 inch service 75.00
i 1/2 inch service 125.00
2 inch service 135.00"
SECTION 2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2147 and Section 14.08.025
of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended to read as follows:
"14.08.025 Sewer service connection rate schedule - Inside
City. Sewer service connection charges within the City limits
shall be as follows:
When sewer trunk line is provided by subdivider pursuant
to Chapter 18.80, (outside of subdivisions only), or by
persons other than the City of Ashland:
4 inch lateral
to normal curb
6 inch lateral
to normal curb
8 inch lateral
to normal curb

line. $435.00
connection from trunk line
line. 470.00
connection from trunk line
line. 520.00
inch lateral connection from trunk line

For properties outside the boundaries of a subdivision or a
development where the subdivider or developer has been
required to install trunk lines, the applicant for service
sh~lt pay to ~he~D~ty the-e~v~-t~at connection charges.
In addition, if such connection is requested within ten (10)
years of installation of said lines, the applicant shall pay
a fee of $535.00 to reimburse the subdivider or developer.
B. Service Connections to all other sewer trunk lines:
4 inch lateral
to normal curb
6 inch lateral
to normal curb
8 inch lateral
to normal curb

line. $445.00 plus $6.70 per front foot*
connection from trunk line

*Add $325.00 if manhole required
A monthly sewer service surcharge of $1.05 is required
for service connections to sewer trunk lines discharging
into a sewer lift station provided by the City."
SECTION 3. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2147 and Section 14.08.030 of
the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended by changing the fee set
forth in subsection A. thereof to read $1,840.00.
The foregoing ordinance was first read by title only in
accordance with Article X, Section 2(C) of the City Charter on
