A NEW SECTION 14.04.040 TO THE ~SHLAND
MUNICIPAL CODE; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE
NO. 1836 AND AMENDING SECTION 14.08.025
AND 14.08.030 OF THE ASHLAND MUNICIPAL CODE.
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND, OREGON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 1835 is hereby
repealed, and Section 14.04.030 of the Ashland
Municipal Code is hereby amended by deleting
the last sentence thereof and adding a new
Section 14.04.040, which shall read as follows:
"14.04.040 Water service connection rate schedule-
Inside City. Water service connection charges within
the City limits shall be as follows:
When water main is provided by subdivider
pursuant to Title 17, and application for
service is made within ten (10) years of
installation:
3/4 inch service connection from
main 1--~e to and including meter.

1 inch service connection from main
line to and including meter.

1 1/2 inch service connection from
main line to and including meter.
2 inch service connection from main
line to and including meter.

3 inch and over service connection
from main line to and including meter. Cost
For properties outside the boundaries of a sub-division,
where the subdivider has been required to install main
lines, the applicant for service shall pay to the City
a fee sufficient to reimburse the subdivider on a pro-
rata basis for said main.
B. For connection to water mains installed prior
to July 1, 1973:
3/4 inch service connection from
main line to and including meter. 450.00
1 inch service connection from main
line to and including meter. 620.00
1 1/2 inch service connection from
main line to and including meter.

connections above the Talent Irrigation Canal
where booster pumping is to be provided by the
City."
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 1836 is hereby repealed and
Section 14.08.025 of the Ashland Municipal Code is
hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows:
"14.08.025 Sewer service connection rate schedule -
Inside City. Sewer service connection charges within the
City limits shall be as follows:
When sewer trunk line is provided by subdivider
pursuant to Title 17, and application for
service is made within ten (10) years of
installation (outside of subdivisions only):
4 inch lateral connection from trunk
line to normal curb line. 180.00
6 inch lateral connection from trunk
1--~ to normal curb line. 310.00
8 inch lateral connection from trunk
line to normal curb line. 635.00
10 inch or over lateral connection
from trunk line to normal curb line.
Cost
For properties outside the boundaries of a subdivision,

prior to July 1, 1973:
4 inch lateral connection from trunk

A monthly sewer service surcharge of $0.80 is
required for service connections to sewer trunk
lines discharging into a sewer lift station
provided by the City."
SECTION 3. Subsection A. of Section 14.08.030 of the
Ashland Municipal Code is hereby amended and shall read
as follows:
That the applicant for service pay the connection
fee as set forth in Section 14.08.025 hereof plus
the sum of one thousand and forty dollars ($1040.00),
which latter sum is in part to compensate the City
for the cost of the existing sewer system and
treatment facilities, and which sum shall be
placed in the capital improvement account for
sewer system improvements for the City."

SECTION 4. The foregoing rates and charges shall be
effective on July 1, 1978.
The foregoing ordinance was duly provided in
accordance with Article X, Section 2.(c) of the Ashland
City Charter; and was first read by title only at a
regular meeting of the Common Council held on the~/Jday
of ~~, 1978, and PASSED to its second reading by
title only and duly ADOPTED at a regular meeting on the
~day of >~~, 1978.
