AN ORDINANCE AI~NDING ASHLAND ORDINANCE NO. 1720 AND AMENDING SECTIONS
2o12.030, 2.12.040, 2o12.050 OF THE ASHLAND'MUNICIPAL CODE; AND
REPEALING SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE 1720; AND REPEALING SECTION 2.12o020
OF THE ASHLAND MUNICIPAL CODE; AND ALSO REPEALING SUBPART "B.l" OF
SECTION 7 OF ASHLAND ORDINANCE NO. 1720, AND SUBPART "Bol" OF SECTION
2.i2.060 OF THE ASHLAND WJNICIPAL CODE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO DRDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1o The following Sections of the Ordinances of
Ashland and Sections of the Ashland Municipal Code are hereby repealed:
A. Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1720 and Section 2.12o020
of the Ashland Municipal Code.
B. Subpart "B.i" of Section 7 'of Ordinance No. 1720
and Subpart "B.I" of Section 2.12.060 of the Ashland
Municipal Code.
SECTION 2. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1720 and Section 2.12.030
of the Ashland Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"2.12.030 Terms of office--Vacancies. Successors
to the original members of the City Planning Commission
shall hold offices for four (4) years."
SECTION 3. Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1720 and Section
2.12.040 of the Ashland Municipal Code is hereby amended to read
as follows:
"2.12o040 Election of .officers--Annual report. The
Commission, at its first meeting, shall elect a
chairman and a vice chairman, and shall appoint a
cretary,who need not be a member of the commission
~/ all of which shall hold office~during
he pleasure of the commission-~ ~, ---~6~?~~6~Tbe
secretary shall keep an accurate r(.cord of all pro-
ceedings, and the city planning commission shall, on
the first day of October of each year, make and file
a report of all its transactions with the city council."
SECTION 4. Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1720 and Section
2.12o050 of the Ashland Municipal Code is hereby amended to read

as follows:
"2.12.050 Quorum--Rules and reKulations. Five (5)
members of the city planning commission, constitute
a quorum. The commission ma? make and alter rules
and regulations for its government and procedure,
consistent with the laws of the state and shall meet
at least once of every thirty (30) days."
SECTION 5. That Section 8 of Ashland Ordinance No. 1720
add Section Noo 2.12.070 of the Ashland Municipal Code, and Ordinance
No. 1752 entitled "An Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 1361 which
pertained to the zoning of the City of Ashland" are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. It is hereby adjudged and declared that the
existing conditions are such that this Ordinance is necessary for
the preservation of the public health and safety of the people of the
City of Ashland and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
The foregoing Ordinance was first read at a regular meeting
of the Common Council held on the ~ day of Ai~ge~s~,19?4, and passed
to its second reading, and duly passed on the /'TF~F day of ~%z~
1974, the vote being as follows:
