FINAL COST FORITHE AIRPORT TAXILANE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
NO. 01-08
Attached is the change order for the final project closeout for Project No. 01-08. Dan has yet to
install one additional area drain and some remedial work. This cost is a final cost as the
additional drain is included. The total final cost is $157,192.60 which is $21,702.60 over the bid
(16% increase). The project is still under my original estimate of $159,330.00 and is well within
the budget set for the project.
Extra costs result from the following conditions:

Additional excavation and fill quantities resulting from a re-calculation of the area using
digital terrain modeling.
The aggregate base course was 68 cubic yards higher than originally estimated as the
course was extended to the retaining wall and some additional crushed rock was used to
provide a smoother slope over rough rock excavation areas.
The length of the storm drain was increased and additional area drains added to provide
improved safety along the taxiway.
An area of soft sub-grade was encountered near the point of connection between the
taxilane and taxiway. The soft material was excavated and replaced with geo-fabric, 4"
shale sub-base and 3A"- 0" crushed rock base.
Following the final completion and acceptance of the project a final payment will be made along
with a final engineering report for ODA.
