2.24.040 OF THE ASHLAND MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO
POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE HISTORIC COMMISSION AND
MEETING DATES: AND AMENDING SECTION 15.04.210 RELATIVE
TO THE MOVING OR DEMOLITION OF BUILDINGS IN DESIGNATED
HISTORIC AREAS OR PROPERTIES.
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The last sentence of Section 2.24.030 of the Ashland
Municipal Code is hereby amended by changing the meeting time
to "the first Monday at 7:30 P.M."
SECTION 2. Subsection D of Section 2.24040 of the Ashland Muni-
cipal Code is hereby amended by adding thereto the words "and site
reviews."
SECTION 3. Section 15.04.090 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall
be amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
"On properties or in areas designated to be of significant
historical value or interest, applications for building per-
mits · not requiring review by the Planning Commission pursuant
to Title 18 of the Municipal Code, shall be referred to the
Ashland Historic Commission for review and recommendations,
'who shall have a period of time not to exceed seven (7) days
to complete such review and recommendations."
SECTION 4. Section 15.04.210 of the Ashland Municipal Code is hereby
amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:
"On properties or in areas designated to be of significant
historical value or interest, applications for permits for
the moving or demolition of buildings shall first be referred
to the Ashland Historic Commission for review and recommenda-
tions, who shall have a period of time not to exceed thirty
(30) days to complete such review and recommendations."
SECTION 5. Subsection A of Section 2.24.040 of the Ashland Municipal
Code shall be amended to read as follows:
"A. To survey and recommend to the City Council, areas or
properties of significant historical value and interest to
be designated historical properties;"
The foregoing ordinance was first read on the 17th day of July, 1979,
and duly PASSED and ADOPTED this ~,~day of-- ~q~ ,
