it would be advantageous for water departments to request aid and
assistance from other water departments during emergencies or at oth~r
timea, and it is necessary and pz~oper that a Mutual Assistance Agree--
merit be entered into by the undersi~gned for mutual protection of
property, health, and welfare; now, therefore,
In consideration of the covenants herein contained, each of the
undersigned agrees to furnish water department equipmenn and per,~o~,~i
to any other undersigned, when assistance is necessary and men and
equipment are available.
Such assistance will be rendered, however, provided ~hat~ no
hereto shall be liable for any failure to r~,~pond.
It is agreed 'that none of the parties hereto shall be liable tc
any other party for damage t2o pro?eru~¥~ ios~ of equip~e~i'~, of ~.
to personnel, or for the palm~ent oi any compensation whatsoever,
arising in the course of, or as a result of, an}, assistance or lack

The administrative heads of the water departments of the parties
to this agreement are authorized and directed to meet and draft such
Rules of Procedure as shall, best acco:-npiish the purposes of this
agreement.
