A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND SUPPORTING THE ROGUE
VALLEY COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS' MISSION STATEMENT.
WHEREAS, there~is a need for intergovernmental communication and
cooperation on issues of mutual interest; and
WHEREAS, local governments in Jackson and Josephine Counties have
participated together through the Rogue Valley Council of
Governments since 1968 in addressing such issues; and
WHEREAS, the Rogue Valley Council of Governments Board of Directors is
currently rewriting the mission statement of the
organization; and
WHEREAS, the City of Ashland is a member of the Rogue W~lley Council
of Governments (RVCOG) and has been asked to review and
endorse the revised RVCOG mission statement.
NOW THEREFORE, the City of Ashland does endorse the fol~Lowing as the
RVCOG mission statement, and does commit itself to participation with
other local governments in support of RVCOG and its efforts to
accomplish the stated mission.
"We shall act as a catalyst to promote quality of ]Life,
effective and efficient services, and leadership in regional
communication, cooperation, planning, and action in Southern
Oregon."
The foregoing Resolution was READ and DULY ADOPTED at a regular
meeting of the Ashland City Council on the 7th day of January, 1992.
