HomeMy WebLinkAbout2051 Adding AMC Chapter 18.64 ORDINANCE NO. 2051 AN ORDINANCE ADDING A NEW CHAPTER 18.64 TO TITLE 18 OF THE ASHLAND MUNICIPAL CODE, THE LAND-USE ORDINANCE, TO PROVIDE FOR A "SO" SOUTHERN OREGON STATE COLLEGE DISTRICT. THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. A new Chapter 18.64 creating a "SO" Southern Oregon State College District shall be added to Title 18 of the Ashland Municipal Code, the Land Use Ordinance, as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof. The foregoing ordinance was first read by title only in accordance with Article X Section 2(C) of the City Charter on the 4th day of December, 1979, and duly PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of December, 1979. EXHIBIT "A" Section 18.64 SO Southern Oregon State College Sections: 18.64.010 Purpose 18.64.020 Permitted Uses 18.64.030 Conditional Uses 18.64.040 General Regulations 18.64.010 Purpose. This district is designed to provide for the unique needs of SOSC as a State educational institution functioning within the planning framework of the City. It can be applied to all areas now or hereinafter owned by the State of Oregon acting by and through the State Board of Higher Education and Southern Oregon State College and located within the SOSC boundary, as shown on the sasc Comprehensive Plan, adopted by SOSC and approved by the City. 18.64. 020 Permi ttE:d Uses. Uses permi tted outright are all those which are directly related to the educational functions of SOSC, provided that such uses are indicated and located in conformance with the adopted and City approved SOSC Comprehensive Plan, and are greater than 50 feet from privately owned property. 18.64.030 Conditional Uses. A. Any use, site design, or construction or alteration of same not agreed upon in advance by the City and SOSC in the SOSC Plan. B. Any use!, site design, or construction within 50 feet of privately- owned property. 18.64.040 General Regulations. This Chapter, together with the Site Review, Sign and Off-Street Parking Chapters of the Title, are the only portions of t.he Title to be effective wi thin the SOSC zone, except for areas within 50 feet of privately-owned land, which are subject to the Chapter on Conditional Use Permits. In addition, the creation or vacation of public streets or public ways shall be subject to mutual agree- ment between the City and SOSC and all other applicable laws.
