ORDINANCE NO. 2353
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 18 OF THE ASHLAND MUNICIPAL
CODE, THE LAND-USE ORDINANCE TO EXCLUDE HOSTELS FRqM THE
DEFINITION OF TRAVELLERS' ACCOMMODATIONS. ;
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 10 Chapter 18.08 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall
be amended by adding a new Section 18.08.315, which shall read
as follows:
"18008.315. Hostel. Any establishment having beds rented
or kept for rent on a daily basis to travelers for .
a charge or fee paid or to be paid for rental or use
of facilities and which are operated, managed or
maintained under the sponsorship of a nonprofit
organization which holds a valid exemption from federal
income taxes under the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 as
amended."
SECTION 2. Sections 18.24.030 and 18.28.030 shall be amended by
adding new subsections (L) thereto, which shall read as follows:
"L. Hostels, provided that the facility be subject to
an annual Type I review for at least the first three
years, after which time the Planning Commission may
approve, under a Type II procedure, a permanent permit
for the facility."
SECTION 3. Section 18.32.030 shall be amended by adding a new.sub-
section (M) thereto, which shall read as follows:
"M. Hostels) provided that the facility be subj ect to an
annual Type I review for at least the first three years,
after which time the Planning Commission may approve,
under a Type II procedure, a permanent permit for the
facility.
The foregoing ordinance was first read on the ;Y~ day of
