.AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18.96 OF THE ASHLAND
]~ICIPAL CODE RELATING TO NEON SIGNS.
THE PEOP:LE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Subsection I of Section 18.96.040 of the Ashland
MuniciparCode shall be amended to read as follows:
"1. No exposed sources of illumination shall be
permitted on any sign or for the decoration of any ,
building including but not limited to neon or
flourescent tubing or incandescent bulbs, except
when the source of illumination is within a building
and at least 10 feet from any window which allows
visibility from the public right-of-way, or when
the source of illumination is fully shielded from
the public view.".
The foregoing ordinance was first read on the C~ day of
January, 1987, and duly PASSED and ADOPTED this &,.oz:t... day of
January, 1987.
