HomeMy WebLinkAbout1725 Rezoning Certain PropertyORDINANCE NO. 1725 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1361, THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND, TO REZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM R-l:B-8 (SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL) TO R-3:2.4 (MULTIPLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and Common Council have held hearings on the question of rezoning the hereinafter described property; and WHEREAS, both the Planning Commission and the Common Council deem it to be in the best interests of the City of Ashland that said rezoning be permitted, NOW, THEREFORE, THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 1361 be, and the same hereby is, amended to rezone from R-l:B-8, single-family residential, to R--3:2.4 multiple-family residential, the following described property located in the City of Ashland, County of Jackson, State of Oregon, to-wit: Beginning at a point on the Northerly line of Siskiyou Boulevard in the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon, 21.0 feet South of the Southeast corner of Donation Land Claim No. 45 in Township 39 South, Range 1 East, Willamette Meridian, Jackson County, Oregon; thence North along the East line of said Donation Land Claim No. 45, a distance of 751.0 feet to a point; thence East along line drawn between said point and Southwest corner of premises described in Volume 541, page 11, of the Deed Records of JacksonCounty Oregon, 100.0 feet to the true point of beginning; th~nce East 183.0 feet along said line to Southwest corner o{ said premises; thence North, along the West line of said premises described in Volume 548, page 12 of said Deed . Records; thence West, along the South line of said premise~ a distance of 183.0 feet; thence South, parallel to th~ ; East line of said Donation Land Claim No. 45, a distanc~ of 145 feet to the true point of beginning. ,'[ it. That inasmuch as it is deemed necessary for the - " -- public health, peace and safety of the citizens of the City of'~shla:nd,_ t that the provisions shall be made immediately operative, it is ftereby declared that an emergency exists and this Ordinance shall be in full -.. force and effect from and after its passage by the Council and approval by th e Mayor.
