ORDINANCE NO. 1830
AN ORDINANCE A}1.ENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1361, THE ZONING ORDINANCE.OF THE
CITY OF ASHLfu\JD, TO :-\[ZONE CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM THE ZONE THAT \-lAS
DESIGNATED BEFORE IT WAS AN~EXED TO THE. CITY OF ASHLAND SO TK~T IT IS
NOW ZONED R-3:204 (MULTIPLE-FANILY RESIDENTIAL).
~nffiREAS, the Planning Commission and Common Council have
held hearings on the question of rezoning the hereinafter described
property; and
~lHEREAS, both the Planning Commission and the Common Council
deem it to be the best interests of the City of Ashland that said
rezoning be permitted,
NOW THEREFORE, THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLO\\TS:
~ECTION 10 That Ordinance Noo 1361 by, and the same hereby
is, amended to rezone certain property from the zone that was designated
before it ,vas annexed to the City of Ashland to R-3:2.4, Hultiple-Family
Residential, said property being described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at the southeast corner of the east half of
the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of the
southwest quarter of Section 11 of TO'ffiship 39 South,
Range 1 East, Willamette Meridian, Jackson County, Oregon;
thenc~North 630.5 feet; thence, West 20900 feet; thence,
South parallel to the first described course 630.5 feet;
thence, East 209,,0 feet to the point of beginning.
EXCEPTING THEREFRON: The southerly 230 feet thereofo
~ECTION 20 It is hereby declared and adjudged that the
existing conditions are such that this Ordinance is necessary for the
preservation of the public health and safety of the people of the City
of Ashland and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval by the Mayoro
The foregoing Ordinance was first read at a regular meeting
of the City Council held on the~P~day of August, 1974, and passed to
its second reading, and duly passed on the 5~day of ~~~:~~1974, the
