A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND, OREGON WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS
FOR COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND PERFORMANCE BONDING FOR SPECIFIC
PROJECTS RELATED TO THE ASHLAND DOWNTOWN PLAN
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the City will achieve substantial
cost savings by waiving competitive bidding for the Calle Guanajuato Recycling Center,
and,
WHEREAS, The Council has determined that such waiver will not result in
favoritism or a decrease in competition, and
WHEREAS, the Council has determined that requiring a performance bond for
the landscaping of the Pioneer Street Parking Lot will result in decreased competition in
bidding on the project which will materially harm the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and City Council as follows:
1) The requirements of competitive bidding for the Calle Guanajuato Recycling
Center are hereby waived, and the City Administrator is authorized to negotiate a
contract for the work.
2) The requirements for a performance bond for the landscaping of the Pioneer
Street Parking Lot are hereby waived.
The foregoing resolution was READ and DULY ADOPTED by UNANIMOUS
VOTE at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Ashland on the 1~T11 day
of June, 1990.
