RESOLUTION NO 90- ~//
A RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 86-22 IN RELA'I'ION TO
TOUR BUSES AND SPECIAL VEHICLE PERMITS.
WHEREAS, Chapter 6.28 of the Ashland Municipal Code will be
amended to exclude non-motorized vehicles from the
definition of a taxicab; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Resolution 86-22 to allow the
Traffic Safety Commission and/or Public Works Director
to consider issuance of special vehicle permits based
on said amendment,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 4., SUBSECTION 6. is hereby amended bv addinq the
fOllowinq paraqraph at the end of the subsection:
"For non-motorized vehicles, the Public Works Director may
issue a Special Vehicle Permit for weddings or similar
events where the passenger(s) are not returned to the point
of origin.
A. Such permit shall meet all requirements of this
resolution.
B. If the request proposes extensive traveling along North
Main, East Main, Siskiyou Boulevard, Highway 66
(Ashland Street), or Hersey Street, a permit must be
approved by the Traffic Safety Commission.
C. If the request crosses any street noted in B., above
the Public Works Director shall take into account
potential conflicts with traffic prior to issuing a
permit.
D. Each such event will require an individual permit."
The foregoing Resolution was READ and DULY ADOPTED at a regular
meeting of the Ashland City Council on the ,I c;? (" day of
June, 1990.
