RESOLUTION NO. 89-~
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND
RENAMING GUANAJUATO WAY TO CALLE GUANAJUATO
WHEREAS, the Term "Way" can have negative connotations in
the Spanish language; and
WHEREAS, "Calle" means "Street" in the Spanish language;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Guanajuato Way is renamed Calle Guanajuato.
SECTION 2. Any existing references in City of Ashland
resolutions, ordinances or the Municipal Code referring to
Guanajuato Way shall mean Calle Guanajuato and are mutually
interchangeable.
SECTION 3. That the Department of Public Works is directed
to place the required street name signs.
SECTION 4. That the City Recorder is hereby directed to
forward copies of this resolution to the County Public Works
Director, County Assessor and County Clerk.
The foregoing Resolution was READ and DULY ADOPTED at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Ashland on the &, Y/~
day of June 1989.
