A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO PROVIDE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
CURBS, GUTTERS AND ASPHALTIC PAVING ON WIGHTMAN STREET
BETWEEN EAST MAIN AND QUINCY STREETS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That it is the intention of the Council to
construct curbs, gutters, and asphaltic pavement by contract on
Wightman Street between East Main and Quincy Streets. The
proposed improvements will be in accordance with costs estimated
at $40.50 per front foot of benefited property, 100% of \'lhich
will be paid by special assessments.
SECTION 2. The Council will meet in the Council Chambers,
Ashland civic Center, 1175 East Main Street on the 15th day of
August, 1989 at 7: 30 P.M., at which time and place the o\o,rners of
adjacent benefited property are called upon to appear before the
Councilor to submit written comments, and show cause, if any,
why benefited property should not be assessed for the proposed
construction of improvements.
SECTION 3. Warrants for the interim financing of the
proposed improvement shall bear interest at the prevailing rates,
and shall constitute general obligations on the City of ]~shland,
and shall be issued pursuant to and on the terms and concHtions
in ORS 287.502 to 287.510 inclusive.
SECTION 4. The City Recorder is directed to serve notice to
the benefited property owners by publishing a notice of public
hearing once in the Daily Tidings, not less than ten (10) days
prior to the hearing, and by mailing copies of the notice by
registered or certified mail to the owners of each lot bEmefited
by the proposed improvement as shown on the latest tax and
assessment roll. The notice shall be in the form of Exhibit "A"
attached to and made a part of this resolution.
This Resolution was READ and DULY ADOPTED at a regular mE~eting
of the City Council of the City of Ashland on the 18th Ole

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the city council of the City of
Ashland will meet on the 15th day of August 1989, at 7:30 P.M. in
the Council Chambers, Ashland civic Center, 1175 East Mai.n
Street, to hold a public hearing to consider the formation of a
Local Improvement District as follows:
NATURE OF IMPROVEMENT: Construct curbs, gutters and asphaltic
pavement on Wightman Street between East Main and Quincy Streets.
BENEFITED PROPERTY: Wightman Street from Quincy to E. Main
Street.
ESTIMATED COST: Total of $84,052.89 or $40.50 per front foot of
benefited property, 100% of which will be paid by special
assessment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Preliminary project design info]~ation
and detailed estimates of project costs are available during
business hours at the office of the Engineering Divisionj, 27 1/2
North Main Street (Above the Dahlia Restaurant).
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that all affected property owners are
called upon to appear at the hearing, or to submit writtEm
comments prior to or at the hearing, as to why the proposed
improvements should not be constructed, or why the benefited
properties should not be assessed for the construction of
improvements in the manner proposed.
