ORDINANCE NO. 2047
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ASSIGNMENT OF
PARKING VIOLATIONS TO A COLLECTION AGENCY
FOR COLLECTION AND PROVIDING FOR ENHANCED
PENALTIES.
THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Ashland Municipal Code is hereby amended
by the adoption of a new ordinance No. 2.28.215 entitled
"Municipal Judge Parking Violations" to read as follows:
(1) The Municipal Judge is authorized to assign
any and all parking violations issued to persons
residing outside the City Limits of Ashland to a
collection agency or agencies for collection of
the penalty provided for such violations. The penal-
ties for parking violations as provided in the Ash-
land Municipal Code shall be enhanced in each case
when the defendant fails to appear or post bail with-
in the time required by the citation as follows:
(a) When the defendant fails to appear or
post bail within seven days of the due date
thereof, the penalty shall increase by Ten
Dollars.
(b) When the defendant fails to appear or post
bail within thirty days of the due date thereof,
the penalty shall increase by Thirty Dollars.
(c) When the defendant fails to appear or post
bail within fifty days of the due date thereof,
the penalty shall increase by Fifty Dollars.
SECTION 2. An emergency is declared to exist and this ordin-
ance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
The foregoing ordinance was first read on the 6th day of
