FOR, AND ANY OBJECTIONS TO, THE VACATION OF NEW STREET
FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH OAK STREET TO ITS TERMINUS
ALL OF WHICH IS LOCATED BETWEEN HERSEY STREET AND THE
RAILROAD TRACKS.
THE CITY OF ASHLAND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Ashland Municipal Code Chapter 4.16 and ORS 271.080 to
271.150, the City Council of the City of Ashland will conduct a public hearing on April 6,
1999, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 1175 East Main Street, Ashland, Oregon,
to hear the petition for, and any objections to, the vacation of New Street from its
intersection with Oak Street to its terminus.
SECTION 2. The city recorder is directed to give notice of the petition and hearing by
publishing a notice in the Daily Tidings, once each week for two consecutive weeks
prior to the hearing and such other notice as may be required by ORS 271.110.
This resolution was read by title only in accordance with Ashland Municipal Code

A petition has been filed by John Fields to vacate New Street from its intersection with Oak
Street to its terminus.

TRACT A: Beginning at a point on the easterly side line of Oak Street in
the City of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon, which is 68.0 feet South
West from a point on the north line of Donation Land Claim No. 42 in
Township 39 South, Range 1 East of the Willamette Meridian in Jackson
County, Oregon, lying 3.68 chains East of the northwest corner of said
Donation Land Claim No. 42; thence South 45o West, along said easterly
side line of Oak Street, 135.0 feet to corner; thence South 50-1/2~ East
140.0 feet, more or less, to the west line of a tract described in deed
recorded in Volume 10 page 531 of the Deed Records of Jackson County,
Oregon; thence North 45* East, along said west boundary line, 135.0 feet
to corner; thence Westerly, parallel to the second described course,

No. 42 in Township 39 South Of Range 1 East of the Willamette Meridian in
Jackson County, Oregon, 34.36 chains West from the northeast corner of
said claim, which point is also the most northwesterly corner of tract
conveyed by LindseyApplegate to R. Koehler Trustee, by deed recorded in
Volume 10 page 531 of the Deed Records of JAckson county, Oregon; thence
South 1.58 chains; thence west 1.S8 chains to the northeast comer of
tract described in Volume 7 page 787 said Deed Records- thence South
west along the easterly line of said'tract BI feet, mor~ or less, to the
most easterly corner of tract dezcribed in Volume 113 page 141, said Deed
Records; thence Northwesterly, along the northeasterly line of said
tract, to a point on the easterly line of Oak Street, which point is
