OFFICE OF THE MAYOR
JOHN W. MORRISON
INCORPORATED 1874
May 29,2007
Stuart R. Corns

Ashland, OR 97520
Dear Stuart,
Your e-mail to the Conservation Commission regarding stepping down as SOU
representative was forwarded to me last week. I am sorry to see you go, but please accept
my sincere appreciation for the efforts you have put forth as a member of this
commission. I hope you enjoyed the time spent working for a better Ashland.
As to your question of how to go about suggesting your replacement I would offer this
suggestion; tell any and all people you believe will be successful candidates for the
position to apply for the position at the City Recorders office (a letter ofrecommendation
from you attached to the application would be greatly appreciated too!). I will then
review the applications and, hopefully, will select the one who will best fit the position.
At that time I wiJl forward my suggestion to the Council for approval.
Thank you again for all of your hard work, should you wish to work on one of our Boards
or Commissions again in the future, please let me know.
Kind regards, ~.

Conservation Commission Members,
Unfortunately, I will be unable to arrive on time for the 6:00 PM start
for the commission meeting tonight.
I knew there was an interest to convene the meetings at an earlier time
but was not aware it was official until receiving the E-mail from Tracy
and reviewing Mary's Email sent earlier this week. In addition, I will
be on vacation next month June 18th through May 23rd.
As I will have missed three consecutive meetings, after the June
session, I feel it would be in the best interest of the commission if I
were to look for a new representative to replace me on the commission.
I have a few potential individuals in mind that I could pursue to
replace me. Please advise as to how you would like me to proceed with
this process and what steps I should take to name a new representative
from SOU.
Thanks, stuart.
