THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOVJS: SECTION 1. Section 2.28.140 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall bc--anlcndecl by changing the 'ivords "pos i tion ordinclUce" to "Ci ty budget" . SECTION 2. Section 2.28.170 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall b(~-arnendc-cI by deleting the \vords "or animals" therefrom. SEc'rrON 3. SECTION 4. Sectio11 2.28.190 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended to read as follows: "2.28. 190 l1uniciR3 1 Jud~e - - Duties. SECTION 6. Section 2.28.230 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended by deleting the words "be the chief administrative officer of the legal department, and;" changing the words "chief officials" to "department heads". and adding the words "City Admin- istrator or" before the words "City Council". SECTION 8. Section 2.28.240 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended by deleting the words "or members of" therefrom. SECTION 9. Section 2.28.280 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended by changing the words "position ordinance" to "City budget." SECTION 10. Section 2.28.290 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended by adding after the words "Chief of Police" in the first sentence, the words "subject to the approval of the City Adminis- trator and City Council." SECTION 11. Section 2.28.310 of the Ashland Municipal Code shall be amended by changing the word "prison" to "lockup" in the ninth line thereof; and deleting the words "the operation of the City pound. " . The foregoing ordinance was first read by title only in accordance with Article X, Section 2(C) of the City Charter on the /tJtf. day of M ,1983, and duly PASSED and ADOPTED this ;;<u4 day of ~~ 1983.
