HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-0321 SEILER Bike&Ped Resignation From: To: Date: Subject: Derek Severson April Lucas; Barbara Christensen; Diana Shiplet 3/21/200810:08:59 AM Bicycle & Pedestrian Commission Barb, April & Diana, Just wanted to let you know that Matthew Seiler from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Commission will be moving out of town and resigning from the Commission after the April 17th meeting. We still have a vacancy from Selene Aitken's resignation, and I know we were talking about not advertising to fill that vacancy given the likelihood that Traffic Safety and Bike & Ped may be combined into a single Transportation Commission, but the Commissioners were a little worried last night that if we have two vacancies, and potentially two commssioners who are hoping for appointment to the Planning Commission, we may be at a point where it becomes difficult to get a quorum. I just wanted to make sure that was on your (and the Mayor's) radar screens. In talking to Paula Brown, we are anticipating having recommendations on the formation of the Transportation Commission for the Council in May, so depending on the ultimate decision it may not be a big concern. That leaves three vacancies on the Bicycle & Pedestrian Commission, but we do anticipate having staff recommendations on the formation of a Transportation Commission done in May for Council consideration at the first meeting in June. - Derek Derek Severson, Associate Planner City of Ashland Planning Division 51 Winburn Way Ashland, OR 97520 e-mail: SeversoD@ashland.or.us Phone: (541) 552-2040 Fax: (541) 552-2050 TTY: 1-800-735-2900 This email is official business of the City of Ashland, and it is subject to Oregon public records law for disclosure and retention.
