Bicycle & Pedestrian Commission
Barb, April & Diana,
Just wanted to let you know that Matthew Seiler from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Commission will be
moving out of town and resigning from the Commission after the April 17th meeting.
We still have a vacancy from Selene Aitken's resignation, and I know we were talking about not
advertising to fill that vacancy given the likelihood that Traffic Safety and Bike & Ped may be combined
into a single Transportation Commission, but the Commissioners were a little worried last night that if we
have two vacancies, and potentially two commssioners who are hoping for appointment to the Planning
Commission, we may be at a point where it becomes difficult to get a quorum.
I just wanted to make sure that was on your (and the Mayor's) radar screens. In talking to Paula Brown,
we are anticipating having recommendations on the formation of the Transportation Commission for the
Council in May, so depending on the ultimate decision it may not be a big concern.
Thanks,

Re: Michael Church - resignation from Bike & Ped
I'm not sure if Matthew Seiler has given anyone else formal notice, but he will be moving out of town and
informed me that the April meeting would be his last on the Commission. That leaves three vacancies on
the Bicycle & Pedestrian Commission, but we do anticipate having staff recommendations on the
formation of a Transportation Commission done in May for Council consideration at the first meeting in
June.

Mayor, Michael Church informed my office of his resignation from the Bike & Ped Commission as he felt it
would be too much now that he is on the Planning Commission.
