"
An ordinance vacating a portion of Quincy Street in the City
of Ashland, Jackson County, Oregon, and requiring the City Recorder
to certify a copy of this ordinance to the County Clerk, County
Engineer and County Assessor. "
WHEREAS, by petition signed by a majority of the adjoining
property owners, it has been requested that the City of Ashland
vacate the hereinafter described ?ro~er~y, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the members of the Common
Council that an error was made in the original description of
Quincy Street and that it was not intended to establish a street
over the hereinafter described property being vacated, and
WHEREAS, due notice of said vacation has been giV.n in the
ma~ner and form required by law, and the Cammon Council haVing
"conducted-a hearing thereon, and it appearing to the Common
Council that the public convenience and welfare will be served
thereby and that this vacation is in the public interest,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ASHLAND DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1.
That that portion of Quincy Street described as follows,
to-wit:
Commencing at the Southeaet:'corner of"Donation Land Claim
No. 39 in Township 39 South, Range 1 East of the Willamette
Meridian in Jackson County, Oregon, thence North 0003'05"
w..t, (record North) 414.0 feet to the Southeast corner of
tRtt parcel described in Volume 59, Page 131, of the Deed
a.eords of Jackson County, Oregon, and the true point of
'D8ginning; thence North 890571 West, (record West), along
the South line of said parcel, .683.76 feet (lO.36 chai..n~)
to the Southwest corner of said parcel, also being the
east line of ASHLAND HOMESTEAD ASSOCIATION TRACT; thence
North, along said east line, 29.97 feet; thence South
89056135" East, 683.76 feet (10.36 chains) to a point
which bears South 0003'05" East, 25.00 feet from a 1"
iron pipe on the center line of Wightman Street; thence
South 0003'05" East (record South), 29.89 feet to the
true point of beginning. EXCEPTING therefrom that por-
tion lying within Wightman and California Streets.

PETITION TO VACATE
The undersigned being adjoining property owners do
herewith petition the Common Council of the City of Ashland,
Jackson County, Oregon, to vacate that portion of Quincy Street
described as follows, to-wit:

Land Claim No. 39 in Township 39 South, Range:.l
East of the Willamette Meridian in Jackson County,
Oregon, thence North 00 03' 05" West, (record
North) 414.0 feet to the Southeast corner of that
parcel described in Volume 59, Page 131, of the Deed
Records of Jackson County, Ore~on, and the true point
of beginning; thence North 89 57' West, (record
West), along the South line of said parcel, 683.76
~eet (10.36 chains) to the Southwest corner of said
parcel, also being the east line of ASHLAND HOMESTZAD
ASSOCIATION TRACT: thence North, along said east line,
29.97 feet; thence South 890 56 35" East, 683.76 feet
(10.36 chains) to a point which bears South 00 03' 05"
East, 25.00 feet from a 1" iron pige on the center line
of Wightman Street; thence. South O. 03' 05" Ea. st (record
South), 29.89 feet to the true p.oi.nt of beginning.
EXCEPTING therefrom that portion tying within Wightman
and California Street. '
