The oouncil met in regular session at 7:30 F..M. this date.
Present: Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Blake, A~plewhite, Hansen, Ingle,
Swedenburg. Absent: Councilman Koozer.
Minutes of the p:evious meetings were read and approved as reado
The Mayor read hl.s annual message and then announced the Standing
Committee appointments of the Counoil as follows:
Finance: Blake, Koozer, Swedenburg
Electric: Swedenburg, Blake, Koozer
Water: Applewhi te, Swedehburg, Hans en
street: Koozer, Applewhite, Ingle
Fire: Hansen, Ingle, Bla~e
Realty: Ingle, Hansen, Applewhite
Board of Health: Dr. Harvey Woods, Dr. Chas. Haines and
Dr. Swedenburg, Dr. Blake, H. S. Ingle
Air Port: Blake, Koozer and H. L. Claycomb
The Mayor then read his reoo~mendations for appointments of the.

Bills amounting to $9000.75 were read as to total amount only same
having been oked by the various oommittees and Finance Committee a~d
upon motion by Blake, seconded by Ingle and following a unanimous roll
oall were ordered paido
Committee Reports:
Realty: It was reported that the Mission Building had been rented
for a year at a monthly rate of $10.00.
The Mayor announced tha t a member of th e counail should be appointed
as ?hairman of th~ Council to aot in the absenoe of the Mayor and upon
mot~on by Applewh~te, seconded by Hansen, W. E. Blkae was appointed.
Ordinances and Resolutions:
The Ci ty Attorney read a proposed ordinanoe fixing the salaries of
elective and appointive employees of the City far the year 1937 and fol-
lowing a short discussion, lit was moved by Swedenburg and seconded by
Hansen that the ordinance fix the salaries for the entire year instead
of six months. as had been the more recent oustom, and was oarried. It
was then moved by Ingle and seconded by Blake that the rules be suspend-
ed and the ordinance be passed to the second reading by title only. Car-
ried. Following ,the second reading, it was moved by Swedenburg and seoond-
ed by Ingle that the ordinance be adopted as read. Roll oall was ordered
on its adoption, the vote being; Ayes: Blake, Ingle, Swedenburg, Hansen,
Applewhite. Nays: None. Thereupon the Mayor announced ~ity Ordinanoe No.
966 adoptedo
An ordinance providing for quarterly pin ball license fees was read
by the City Attorney to amend the existing ordinance on pin ball fees.
Moved by Blake and seconded by Hansen that the rules be suspended and
the D~dinance be passed to the seoond reading by title only. Carried.
Following the seoonl reading, it was moved by Ingle and seconded by
Swedenburg that the ordinance be adopted as read. Roll call was ordered
",,'on its adoption, the vote being; Ayes: Blake, Ingle., Swedenburg, Hansen,
Applewhite. Naj,: None. Thereupon 'the Mayor declared City Ordinance No.
967 adoptedo . . .

The City Attorney read an ord1nance on the use of white oanes for
blind people exol..t....ly, but no action.,was taken on it at this time.

appointed legislative agent for the c~ty of Ashland · .
