E. Russell ~or the opera'l1. on ot the power plant for 1937 was brought up by the City Attorney ~d upon motion by Ingle. seconded by Blake. the Jlayor and City Recorder' .ere authorized to sign a new contract in the name of the City of Ashland. Carried. The City Attorney read a proposed ordinance namingthe Boulevard, Siskiyou Boulevard. Jloved by Ingle and seconded by Blake that the Ordin- - anae be passed to the second reading by title only. carr1ed. -"~ A salesman representing the Red.Comet Fire Extinguisher gave a talk and demonstration of his fire extinguishers. . The City Attorney read a proposed resolution favoring the giving o~ a portion of the Gasoline Revenue Tax to Cities based upon their populat- ion. Following oome discussion, it was moved. by Swedenburg and seconded by Hansen that the rules be suspended and the resolution be passed to the second reading by title only. Carried. Bollowing the second reading it was mO'Ye6 by Swedenburg"and aeoonded by Hazraen that the resolution be ad" opted as read. Roll call was ordered on its adoption, the vote being, ~es. .Applewhite, Blake. Hansen, Ingle, Koozer ,Sweden burg. Nays; lIone. There- upon the ~ayor declared the ~eBolution adopted. The City Attorney stated that the 19900.00 now held in esero.could be released provided that same would be immediately available tor th1s p~ ohase ot the Li thia Springs lane. upon the entering in1io a oontraet and suggested that the Kayor and Recorder be" authorized to sign this oontraot in the name ot the aity of Ashland. Moved by Swedenburg and seoonded b7 Hansen that authority be granted as suggested and the contraot entered in- to with the re~resentatives ot Mr. Newbern who olaimed ownersh1p ot all water rights on this land.
