Absent: None. ' Monthly reports of the Cemetery, Dump Ground, Library and City JUdge were read, accepte~ and ordered placed on file. Bills amounting to $9729.20 were read as to tot,al amount only. same having been oked by the various departments and Finance Committee and upon motion by Blake, seconded by Koozer and followed by a unanimous roll call were ordered paid. The followins application for a building permit was presented: No. 23: To re-roof a dwelling at 125 Third Street at an approximate cost of $122.00 by J. A. Ford, General Roofing Co. It was moved by Ingle and seconded by Hansen that the permit be granted. Carried. Mr. F. E. Thompson, W. P. A. head, spoke on the value:i.lof W. P. A. work in Ashland and Jackson County showing that over ~40.000 had been spent in labor alone in Ashland and over $206,000 in Jackson County for labor and materials. Committee Reports: . Electric: Biegel reported that bids had been received for the oopper wire, but that all bids were the same. street: Applewhite reported on a hazard whicl1 existed on Helman street towards Sanders place due to high grass and weeds. It was referred to the street ComIni ttee. Realty: Ingle spoke on the improvement of the Ashland Cemetery and the use of sludge from the Sewage Disposal Plant for the purpose. He also reported on the landscaping of the Hospital grounds and plans were ex- hivited. the estimated cost of whioh was about $2400.00. Police: A written report on parking and general traffic problems was received from the Chief of Police and read and provided oonsiderable dis- cussion. Th~eport requested an additional man for the additional work thought necessary for the propwr enforcement of the traffic regulations. After thorough discussion, it was moved by I~gle and seconded by Hansen the request be granted temporarily for an additional man and roll oall was ordered on the motion, the vote being, Ayes: Blake, Ingle, Hansen, A.pplewhi te, Crandall.
