The Council met in special session at 5:00 P. M. this date. Present: Mayor Wiley~
Councilmen Applewhite, Blako.. Crandall" Hensen. Absent: Councilmen Ingle, Koozer.
The purpose of the meetinb ~ffiS to discuss measures mecessary to reduce the present
fire insurance rates. Mr. White of the Oregon Fire Insurance Rating Bureau and Mr.
Taylor of the Fire Ma.:sshall's Office were present to answer questions and make suggest-
ions. Mr. Whites report outlined the following suggestions$ civil service for fire dept-
meat employees, ~~ additional paid fireman, additional sleepers, alarm boxes and zoning
and building ordinances. A total reduction in rates being 6.45%. The matter was discus-
sed but no action -taken.
On mo-tion, the council adjourned to meet at the call of -the Mayor:
