The City Attorney brought up the plan of the Chambers of Commerce/in Southern Ore-
gon to make a study of why the tourist did not stay longer in southern Oregon and what
could be done to cause him to remain longer.
The following applioations ffJr building permits were presented:
No. 18. To remodel dwelling at 811 Iowa Street at an approximate Gost of $400.00
by R. E. Poston.
No. 19. To remodel rooming house in 300 block on East Main Street at an approxima-

No. 20. To erect sew dwelling at near 78 PineZStreet at an approximate cost of
$1,000.00 by Mr.. L. 14. Stearns.
No. 2.~ To erect new addition at 142 DB" Street at an approximate oost of 1150.00
by H . C. Rude.
It was moved by Ingle and seoonded by Hansen that the permits be approve.d subject
to building regulations. Carried.
Upon motion by Blake, seoonded by Hansen the list ot free light and water oustom-
ers substantially the .ame as f'or the past six months was approved tor the period trom
July 1st to Deoember 31st, 1938. Carried.
