Couneilmen Applewhite, Carson, Crandall, Delsman, Koozer, Tayler. Absent, None 0 The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. , The monthly report of the Dump GrGund was read, accepted end ordered placed on file. Monthly bills amotmting to $13..012.83 were read as to total amounts only, same having beenoked by the various departments" oommittees and finance committee and upon motion by 'HUINH Koozer, seconded by Tayler were ordered paid. Upon motion by Crandall, seconded by Koozer. a bill for $5.00 for collection ser- vioes of the Ed High cheek from a Yreka Attorney was authorized. The following building permit applications were presented: No. 10: To erect dwelling and garage on Alida Street at ~~ approximate oost of t15eO.00 by Mabel R. Lay by Phil Lay. No. 11: To erect woodshed at 25 Gresham street at an approximate cost of .200000 by Mrs. H. H. Gilletteo No. 12: To remodel and paint shop at 45 East Main Street at an approxL~ate eost of .100.00 by J. D. Mars. No. 13: To remodel dwelling at 645 Siskiyou Boulevard at an approximate cost of $300.00 by Frank Jordan. No. 14: To remodel dwelling at 770 Iowa Street at an approx:L1Ilate cost ot $150.00 by Frank Jordan. No. 15: To erect new auto court unit at Sheridan and North Main Streets at an approximate cost of $1500.00 by J. Q. Adams.. It was moved by Tayler and seconded by Crandall that the permmts be granted.Carried. A letter from the Oregon State College with bulletin on earwigs was read and dis~ I cusaed. Committee Reports: Finance: The sale. of $3000.00 in U. S. Savings Bonds and the purchase of the same amount in Ashland Water Bonds was considered and upon motion by Koozer, seconded by Applewhite, the sale and purchase was approved. Carried. Upon motion by, Koozer~ seconded by Cpandall~ the City S~perintentant was authorized to write up W. P. Hospitals The inventory list was considered and upon mo-tion by Koozer" seconded by Crandall; the Mayor and Recorder were authoit.ed to execute the re-newall of the lease between the Ci'by and larl Ni.ms for a five year period. Carried unamimously. The Moon Mill prope~ lease was discussed and referred to the Realty Committee for investiflt. ion. Moon having not paid his lease for the past two years or more and a party named ~eher wanting to lease the property. The forest road -was discussed further and it was moved by Applewhite and seconded by De1sman that the City adopt an ag~ressive attitude and a party see the forest super- visor regarding the road building. Carried. The wa.ter right for the power for the Ashland Ice and Storage Company was disoussed further.
