Present: Mayor Wiley, Councilmen Applewhite, Carson, Crandall, Delsman, Koozer, ~ayler. Absent: None The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Monthly reports of the Electric, Water and Street Departments.. Library and Recorder were read.. accepted andordered plaoed on file. The followin~ e.pplioations for building permitsv'W'ere p"l'sented: No. 37, To erect addition to store room of Elks Bldg, East Main Street at an appro:rlIfAte cost of $4500.00 by Frank Jordan. No. 38: To erect addition to store at 1219 Iowa Street at an approximate cost of $150.00 by D. N. Baird. No. 39: To erect dwelling on Coolidge Street.. behind 523 Noeth ~in Street at an approximate cost of $'~' $900000 by Mrs. E. Hicks No. 401 To remodel dwelling at 171 Norlh Pioneer Avenlt~ at an approximate cost of $200.00 by A. Moorilln . It was moved by Delsman andseconded by Carson that the permits be granted. Carried. Eleotric ~4.t} Committee Reports: The purohase of a cement mixer at a cost of about 1400.00 was approved upon motion by Crandall, seconded by Koozer and carried following a unanimous r'oll call. ! i ,,'; Sewage Disposal: The purchase of a lime ~pr~a'akr at a eost of about $263.00 was approved upon motion by Tayler, seconded by Applewhite and oarried following a unanimous roll call. Street: It was reported that the bridge near Peil's needed the asphalt replaced. Realty: Cemetery: Perpetual upkeep chs.r;es were disoussed. The need for additionaJ revenue for the \.iemetery Department being ap<parent, it'V\'8.s moved by Carson that the matter be ref erred to the City Attorney for study with t he Cemetery Conmd ttee and report back to the Council. Seconded and carried Time for tr~ hearing on the Blaine and Emeriok Street .vacation having arrived, an agreement whioh had been prepared was presented setttng forth a proposed settlement between the School Board and parties~ing land, which would satisfactorily adjust the matter. The budget ~~s studmed and discussed briefly. A resolution favoring the United Air Line making short trips such as from Med- ford to Eugene~ Eugene to Salem e"tc was read the first time and it was moved by Tayler ~ and seconded by Applewhite that the rules be suspended and the resolution passed to the second reading by title only. Following the second reading, it was moved bJT DelsI!'.B.11 and seoonded by Koozer that t he resolution be adopted as read and following a unarJunous roll call, the Mayor deolared the resolution adopted.
