The Council met in regular session at 7,3u P. M. this date. Present, Mayor Wiley.
CouncilDlen Applewhite. Carson.. Crandall, Koozer. Tayler. Absent: CouncilDl.an Delsman.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Monthl~r reports of 'the Electric.. "o.ter an.d Street Departments and ~ity Recorder
were read, accepted andordered placed on file.
Mrs. Fleener at 145 Oberlin Street asked that a street light be installed in
front of her place and upon motion by Tayler, seconded by Applewhite, the matter was
referred to the Electric Committee for investigation. Carried.
A letter from the Secre'tary or 'the Chamber of Co:mmerce proposing some changes in
the peddler's license was read and discussed and it was moved by Carson and s.conded.

thereupon appointed the following: Koozer, Carson. Tayler as a committee to work with
the City Attor.ney on e. peddler's license ordinance.
The question of leaks in the roof of the armory now under c1 ty control was dis-
Gussed, also the furnishing of light to the caretaker. Upon motion by Koozer, seconded
by Applewhite a check meter to check the light used. in the living qua.rters was auth-
orized and that light to be furnished free.. but light for the main drill hall to be
charged for at the regular ra.te. Carried.
Upon motion by Applewhite.. seconded by Koozer, the following applicatiom for
endorsement to the State Liquor Control CORWdssion were approved. Carried. White House,
W. D. Jackson, A. M. Brower.
All licenses for pool and card ta.bles to be issued by the City Recorder and all
must obtain licenses on or before January 15th of each year.
The following application for a building Permit was presented:
No. 53: To erect garage at 145 Almond Street at an approxi~te cos~ of $150.00
by Norman Kerr. It wa5 moved by Crandall andseconded by Koozer that the permit be gran'b
ed. Carried.
Upon motion by Tayler, seconded by Carson bids on a coupe and sedan for the
Electric Department were authorized to be celled. for. Carri6d.
The City Attorney reported on negotiations regarding s'top signs with the Southern
Pacific Company.
The City Attorney read a proposed ordinance authorizing the is suance of an
Improvement Bond under the Bancroft Act in the matter of co;nstructing curb and gutters
on Alida, Nob Rill and 6th Street and oil pavement on Iowa. Liberty and Nutley
Streets and it was moved by Koozer tha"t the rules be suspended and the ordinance be
passed to the second reading by title only. Ca.rried, following a second by Tayler.
After the second reading.. it wa s moved by Tayler andseconded by Carson that the ord-
inance be adopted as rea.d and following a unanimous roll call, the Mayor declared
City Ordinance No. 1015 adop~ed.
The Ci~y Attorney read a proposed radio interference ordinance and discussion
followed. The City- Superintendent to be designated as official inspector. It was
moved by Koozer ands econded by .a. ayler that -the rules be suspended and the ordinance
passed to the second reading byLtitle only. Carried. Following the second reading.. it
was moved by Applewhite and seconded by Tayler that the ordinance be adopted as read
and following a unaninl.ous roll call the Mayor declared City Ordinance No. 10lG
adopted.
The City' Recorder was authorized to notify the CO\U1ty Clerk that the City was
not interest~d in property referred to in letter dated Deo. 14. 1940.. viz.lots 25-28.
Block 2 Whites' Addition.
The issuance of pay checks to city em.ployees before Xmas was authorized upon
motion by Applewhite. seconded by Carson and carried.
It was reported that Jo E. Flurry was to pay more on his lease on Dee. 20th.
On motion the Council adjourned to meet at the call of the ~ayor I
