The Council met 11<j regular session at 7:39 P. M. this date. Present: Mayor Wiley..

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Bills amountir;~b to $9,928.45 were read as to total amount only.. &aIm he. ring been

Crendall, seconded by ..\pplewhi te, were ordered paid.
A deleg'1ltion of propert~r owners on Allison Street were present to ask some question.
regarding the costs and kind of paving they would get OIt Allison street.
Mr. Jessell Ii ring on Idaho Street asted tor pavement on that street and upon
motion bj" Tayl er, seconded by Daugherty. a. petition to be zoo.de out tor Mr. "Tessell to
get signers for the pavement of Idaho Street was approved. Carried.
Upon motion by Crandall. seconded by Tayler, the prin'ting of spscial torms for the
Cemetery record book was approbed. Carried.
One bid for the construction of curb and gutter on Allison S'treet between Gresham
and Union Street. was received from Easterling and Cremer at .75, per lineal foot and
upon motion by Tf>>yler, seconded by Applewhite.. ~ bid was accepted. Carried.
The bid was accompanied by a cashierts check for $50.00 as a bond ot good faith.
The unpaid city improvement asseSSluents against the Li thia Hotel property 'total-
ling 4445.00 was referred to the City Attorney and Finmce Committee with power to act.
COM1ITTTEE REPORTS:
Eleotric: The wiring and use of electric light at the Beck's Rodeo Ground was
discussed and upon motion b~r Applewhite. seconded by llayler, the furnishing of current
and equiptnant up tc $100.00 was authorized.. following a unanimous roll call. Carried.
Fire'Ble@!l estimated that the oost of a foundation for the proposed tire station
at Firs:r-and "eft Stt-eets would be #650.00. A call tor bids tor the tire sution founda-
tion was set for 8 :00 P. M. June 17th upon motion b:{ Applewhite, seconded by Tayler
and oarried.
Water. The water right of the Ashl~lnd Ice & Storage Co. was discussed and reterred
to the Ci'ty Att.olmpy ani City Sup't for negotiation and report be.ck.

Ree.l~: The problem of zoning was brought up and!t was moved by Crandall and
seconded ~r Woodell that the City Attorney write Cuthbert or Freeman. planning experts
to come to Ashland to ~:vtl.e~& ~ ty relative to the subject. Carried.

members.. E. C. Blegel, F. J. Van Dyke and Judge J. 'B. Coleman or o'ther Coun'ty Court
member.
On motion by Crandall, seconded by Daugherty. Biegel was au'thorized to go *ith a
group trom Medford to study and get first hand information concerning problems in con-
nection with the pre'posed cantonement at Medtord. Carried.

Creek as a site for s. pre.posed air port and it was moved by Woodell and seconded by
Tayler that the City Attorney prooeed to secure options on the necessary lar~ for this
purp'se.
Li thia Water: The G~8-Ice Corporation having failed to mke their payment of $500.OC
as provided for in the leas e of the Li thia Springs property.. the City A ttoamey was in-
structed to wire Mr. Nei'ibern, ptesident of the Corporation_ by registered mail. notify-
ing them that the lease had terminated. Motion was nade by Ta.yler. seconded by Daugherty
and carried following a unaniniOUS roll call.
