The minutes of the preTious meeting were read end approved as read.
The monthl' report of the City Judge and Librarian were read, aocepted and ordered
plaoed on tile.
Billa amounting to $14.880.01 were read as to total amount only, same having been
oked by the various departments, oommi ttees and finance commi -ttee and upon motion by
Koozer, seconded by Applewhite and following a unanimous roll oall were ordered paid.
the following applications for building permits were presented:
Bo. 62. To put on a corruga'ted steel roof on building at 63-69 North Main Street
at an approximate cost of $350.00 by W. KcLaughlin.
)To. 83: To erect addition 'to dwelling at 842 "A" Street at an approximate cost
of 1150.00 by AlTin Alwine.
Ho. 64: To repair and remodel dwelling at 150 First Street at an approximate oost
of $260.00 by T. L. Powell. .
Ho. 66: To repair roof With shingle and composition at 990 Siski)"'Ou Boulevard at
an approxiBate cost of '600.00 by J. Dexter Woodworth tor Mrs. Swedenburg.

an appropriation up to '50000 forlhe work ot the Coriunission was read arid folloWing some
disoussion, it was moved by Crandall anc1 seconded by Daugherty that the Commission be
permitted to present bills up ~ .25000 to 'the Council tor payment. Carried."

red to the Fire Committee with power to act. Carried. '

Utilities. The need tor repairs to the Elliott-Fisher accoiJrting machine was
disou-ssed. Also the possibility of' getting a new machine, either Elliott-Fisher or
Burroughs. Upon motion by Woodell, seconded by tayler, the problem of' e. new machine
was ref"en\d to the Finance Comm:t'tee. Carried.
Dry Ioe. Dr. Crandall who had been to Ukiah and had investigated the dry ioe
plantXieir'there gaTe a Tery interesting talk on his trip. It was suggested tha't he
write the owner ot this plan't and invite hill'! here at oity expense to investigate the
possibilities here. Crandall reported that 'the committee on ~e ._ewbern proposition
reoommended that the period ot time suggested by Ji_bem as ,~ years.. be cut to
one year aDd jhat the deTelopnent'R>rk be started first on the City properly.
