Absent: Councilman Woodell. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. The monthly report of the City Judge was read. accepted and ordered placed on file. Bills amounting to $21,780.67 were read as to total amount only. same having been oked by the various depar-bnents" committees and finance commi t:tee and upon motion by Koozer, seoonded by Daugherty and following a unanimoua roll call, were ordered paido A letter from the Oregon State Highway Commission advising the City of Ashland that $2342.00 was being allotted to them for city streets was read e.nd following brief discussion. it wa s moved by Crandall and seoonded by l'ay1er that the letter be referred to the City Attorney and City Sup' t. Carried. The following applications for building perm! t8 were presBnted: No. 931 To remodel garage at 83 North Main Street at an approxima.te cost of $200.00 by Clarence L. 8mi the No. 94: To remodel store at 38 East Main Stredt at an approximate cost of $250,00 by Clarence L. SDdth. No. 95: To erect dwelling and garage at 1320 Oregon Street at an approximate cost of $3.000.00 by Albert C. Joy. It was moved by Koozer and seconded by Crandall that the permits be granted.Carried Bids having been received by the Polioe Department on a new Polioe car. but not having been authorized in 'the usual manner. it was _lied by Daugherty and seconded by Tayler that the City Superintendent get bids on the Police car and also the Water Department! ton pick-up. Carriedo The City Sup'j having already reoeived bids for the Electric Department ooupe from the Ford" Plymouth, Chevrolet and Pontiac dealers, the bids were opened and discussed, but it was deoided to d,rer any action until the bids for the Police and Water Deparimen-bt oars had been received and then act on all oar bids at ohe time. Mr. Huffman, real estate agent was present and wanted to purchase five acres of air port land ror a client of his. F.llowing discussion, it was moved by Applewhite and seoonded by Koozer that the matter be referred to the Realty Committee and City Sup't to investigate and report back. Carried. Golf course equipment was discussed, same having been referred to the Finance COlmlli ttee for report. Koo zer stated that the tractor would cos't about $lOGo including side mower and the gang mower would cost about $435.00. He suggested tha-t the City buy the tractor and rent to the Golf Club for $15.00 pe r month, but buy the gang mower and .el1 same to the Golf Club at the rate of $lo.oof per month. Follcwing further disoussion, it was moved by Koozer and seconded by Daugherty that the City Attorney draw up a oontraot with "the Golf Club for rental and sale of the equipment as reoommended and the equipment to be purchased by the Ci -ty on completion of the golf olub contract.
