The Counoil met in regular session at 7.30 P. M. this date. Present, Aoting
lIayor KOGler. Councilmen Applewhite. Daugherty. Putman. Redford. Selby. Absent:
Mayor Wiley.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Bills amounting to $9.454.62 were read as to total amount only. same having
been eked by the various departments. oommi ttees and finance oommi ttee and upon
motion made and seoclnded and following a unanimous roll call were ordered paid. .
The following applioation for a building permit was presented.
No. 39. To ereot workshop at 1228 East Main Street at an approximate oost
of .150.00 by Roy Conley.
It was moved. seoonded and carried that the permit be granted.
Karl P. Nims. manager of the Community Hospital appeared before the Council
ooncerning the lease of the haspi tal whioh had -just expired. :Mr. Nims gave an
interesting talk on hospitals and their probable future. He did not ask for a renewal
er the lease. but aaid that they would continue to operate it as in "the pas"t for 1:;he
duration if' the eoun.cil desired them to do so at the same terms.
Following further discussion. it was moved by Applewhite and seconded by Redford
that the Oi'ty Attorney work out a tentative contract on the hospital lease. Carried.
On motion. the Council adjourned to meet at the call of' the Mayor.
