Abs.nta Councilman Redlord. i'he minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. The monthly report of the Polioe Judge and semi-annual report ot the Cemetery Department were rea.d and approved. Bills amounting to .10,057.18 were approved and erdered paid. Correspondence WaS read f'rom the Ashland Library Board asking that the appoint- m.ent of' Don Spenoer be approved. The Mayor appointed Don Spenoer to succeed himself on the Library Board. Motion was wade by l{ooBer and seconded by Putman that the appoin'tm.ent be approved. Carried. 1he following applications tor building permits were presented: No. 16: To erect garage and store room ot wood construotion. at 93 North Main at an approxima'te cost of $106.00 by George S. Reed. Ho. 17: To remodel dwelling at 993 Boulevard at an approximate cost ot .l~.OO by Elizabeth Leever. No. 18. To make an addition to the packing house at 1'126 Boulevard at an approxi- mate OOR of .1100.00 by W. W. Pierson. _ No. 191 To :make an addi-tion to dwelling a1: 375 Beach 81;. a-t an approxima-te cost _of "00.00 by o. R. Wray. Councilman Koozer asked which the 8tudents would rather hav~. the age limita'tion lowered or the hour extended. The consensus ~~among the students was that they should have the age lowered. IIr. Robinson oouI'uti1 for their consideration. The question ot tilling Reeder Dam was discussed by the council. After oonsiderable discussion i't was moved by Putman and seconded by Applewhite that Biegel be instructed to cut the load at the Power house &ad till the Dam. Carried. A letter from. George M. Green on his contract with the War Production Board in. Washington.D. C. in regard to Dry Ice was read. It was moved by Selby and aeconded by Putman that $50.00 be allowed to Mr. Green for his trip. Following a unanimous roll call it was carried. A let~r was written to Representative Harris Ellsworth on House Representative Bill No. 2426. Let'tera were also to be sen't 1;0 Senators Holman and Guy Cordon. Realty: Mr. Delisle made an otter ot .125.00 tor his strip ot land 10 ft. wide and 125 ft. deep adjoining the Pole ~or the City of Ashland. It was moved by Koozer and seconded by Selby tlfat the matter be referred to the Realty committee with power to act. Carried. On motion. the Counoil adjourned to meet at the call or the Mayor.
