Selby. Absent: Councilman Redford. The minutes of 'the previous meeting were read and approved as read. The annual report o:f the 81 ty Reoorder for the year ending June 30. 1944 was read. accepted and ordered plaoed on file. Mr. R. M. DeMille and Mr. H. J. Leveque 'Were present and protested against the Townsend Club dance disturbance. These danoes spon..red by the Townsend Club and held at the V. F. W. Hall had b'eoome very noisy and some damage done to adjacent property. The matter was refereed to the Police Department for action. The following applicatmon for a building permit was presented: No. 481 To erectbhouse on Avery Street at an approximate cost of .100.00 by Everett lokholm. It was moved }rIJ Daugherty and seconded by Selby that the permit be 8ltal1'ted. Carri 00. A letter from the Jansen Lumber Company ooncerning a tunnel under East Main ~treet near Garfield to oonneo't two ponds at the mill was referred to the Ci t1 Sup't. Commit-tee Reports: Street: Daugherty reported that the hump in the alley in rear of the Baptist Church made when an oil tank had been ins"talled and whioh had been referred to the City Sup't for remedy last May. was still there.
