The Counoil met in regular session at 1,30 P. M. 'this date. Presents Mayor Wiley.
Counoilmen Applewhi te~ Daugherty. Redford. Putman. Absentf Councilmen Koozer. Selby.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
The annual report ot the Electric ~ Water. Street and Cemetery Departments and the
mon~~ly reports for August of the Electrio. Water. Street Departments and Ci~ Reoorder
were read. accepted and o~dered placed on file.
The first monthly report of the Community Hospital for the month of August pre-
pared by George P. Smi th.manager was read by the City A't-torney. This repprt although
well itemized~ was misleading 8,S to actual net profits for the month.. since it did not
list accounts receivable. but only the actual cash received, but did list aocounts
payable and all expenses paid. and as 8. result showed a deficit or-JS8.43. As this
report showed all of the expense" but only part of the income. the true status of the
operations was not reflected in this statement.
The City Attorney reported that he had written let\ers to both Mr. stone and Mr.
Lucas relative to the investigation of the dog disturbance.
The following applications tor building parmi ts were presented I
Noo 50: To ereot garage at 382 Wightman street at an approximate cost of $1100000
by John A. Noslero
No. 51: To erect garage at 678 Boulevard at an approxilIate cost of 1200000 by
Blanche M. Arnold.
It was moved by Put.man and seconded by Daugherty tba. t the permi ta be granted.

The transfer of deposits to delinquent accounts in the am01mt of $81.70 and the
transfer of 4158,28 in discchnnected accounts to the inactive list was approved.
The Ci~ Sup't reported that the cost of a siphon across that part of the highway
near the airport properties would be from $300.00 to $350000 for the City' 8 share. It
was. moved by Daugherty and seconded by Applewhite 'that the MaY9r and Reoorder be
authorized to sign the agreement with the State Highway Com.mis~.ion. Carried.
