cerning the reservation of forests on the right of way was read. It was moved by Fisch-
born and seconded by Merrill that the City draft a resolution supporting the idea of the
Portland Chamber of Commerce, Carried.
Weitzel was elected Chairn~n of the Council follo~ng a ballot in which Fischborn

It was r.ported that the City Bus wanted signs painted on streets to desigDate
bus stops. Following discussion, it was moved by Redford and s.oond.d' by W.itzel
that the matter be referred to the street and Polioe Depairtments aDd City Suptt tor
r.oommenda~on. Carried.
The matter ot a franchise for the City Bus was reterred to the City Attorney to
prepare and submit to the council, upon motion by Daugherty, seconded by Fisohbc:i.rD and
