Absent: CounciDuen Merrill" Redford" Weitzel. The minutes of the previous meetinG were re~d and approved as read. Monthly reports of the Electric" street and Waier Departments and City Recorder were read, accepted and ordered placed on fileo William Healy" Secretary of the Ashland Chamber of C~mnerce, presented the plan of the Chamber of COllllerce for raisin.g revenues for the future by a 2 mill tax leV1J in addition to the regular income from dues and o~~er sources. Dr. W. W. Weller" Pres- ident of the Chamber of Commerce" H. C. Galey" H. S. Ingle and others alsp spoke i:n favor of' the plan. Fischborn moved that the Cotmcil go on record as ~avoring the plan, but wanted more time to study the proposal and obtain i~formation as to the experiences of other Citieso The motion was lost for want of a second and it was then moved by Daughertr~ that the City favored the plan a~d tham an election be 9rdered within 30 days. Seconded by NosIer and carriea.
