The Council met in special session this date. Those present were Acting
Mayor Redford, Councilmen Weitzel, Fisehborn, Daugherty, Nosler, and
Merrill.

The meeting was called to hear the report on t he bridge on Winburn Way.
Biegel reported on his findings. He recommended that a twelve or fourteen
foot arch be constructed along the side of the present arch to take eare
of excess water. He reported that he had contacted County Engineer Paul
Rynning and A. D. Harvey, consulting engineer of Medford. They both
agreed that a twelve foot tube would be sufficient. Considerable discus-
sion followed.
Weitzel spoke in favor of a new bridge enttrely to take the place of the
present bridge and to erect a wall in back of Witzel's building and to

carry the alley next to his building. Fred Taylor and others spoke at the

meeting in favor of one new bridge to replace the pre sent bridge. Some were
in favor of closing the old bridge and oonstructing a new bridge along the
side of the present one.

It was moved by Merrill, seconded by Fischborn, that we call in A. D.
Harvey, Consultant Engineer, to give a report on what should be done.
The meeting adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.
