The ~ouncil met in adjourned session at 7:30 P. M. this date.
Present: Kayor Wile'y. Councilmen Applewhite, Blake. Ingle, Koozer,
Swedenburg. Absent: Councilman Hansen.
!he lfa70r stated the purpose ot the meeti.n8 and asked the'
Hoapital Committee to make their report relative to the new lease
ot the hospital. Miss Losher having asked io assign her lease effect-
ive July 1st in orier that she might acoept another position. Ingle
reported tor the oommittee and Mr. Will W. Wood of IUamath Jralla. who
had applied for the lease a1'14 was acceptable to Miss Lasher spoke oon-
cerning his experienoe and his planA for o:perating the hospital if he
s,eoured the lease. :Miss Losher alBo spoke recommending :Mr. Wood as her
suocessor and thanking the }layor and Council tor their co-operation
and support. The Mayor thankld Miss Losijer tor her servioes as super-
intendent ot the hospi tal end the eouncil went into exeoutive session
after the visitors had la.ft.
Having a;rived at their deoision. the oouncil re-oonvened and
it was moved by Ingle and seconded by Blake that the applioation ot
Mr. Wood be approved as leasee ot tile hospital and that 'khe Oi ty
Attorney be instruoted to draw up a lease s& tisfactory to both parties
for the period oovered by Miss Losherts present lease or Deoember 31.

Applewhi te brought up th e free list tor the next six months whioh
had been approved and moved that free lights and water be granted.
Seoonded by Blake. Carried.
Applioat ions tor the following building permi ts were submitted:
No. 16. To remodel dwelling at 3Z3 North :Main street at an approx-
imate cost of $300.00 by Dr. E. A. Woods.
No. 17. To oonstruot a new all stee1 buildilag at 248 HelIJlln Street
at an approximate cost ot $600.00 by L. R. Coder.
It was moved by Ingle and seoonded by Koozer that the permits be aranl
ad subJect to building regulations. Carried.
A lease and option to purchase Lots 7, 8, It 10. 11, and 12 o:t
Bloak ffE" Railroad':'add1tion to the City of Ashland to William R. Taylor
for $75.00 jaBS commission was upon motion by Koozer, seconded by
AppleWhite. approved.
Koo zer discussed the quest ion of paymen t for members of 1h e band
bui no offioial action was taken.
