HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-23 Central Ave LID/MeetingRESOLUTION NO. 99-_,~_~ A RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO PROVIDE FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO CENTRAL AVENUE CONSISTING OF PAVING, CURBS, GUTTERS, STROM DRAINS, SIDEWALK, AND ASSOCIATED IMPROVEMENTS AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING. THE CITY OF ASHLAND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is the intention of the Council to undertake the improvement described as follows: Paving, curbs, gutters, storm drains, sidewalk, and associated improvements to Central Avenue from Water Street to Helman Street. SECTION 2. The description of the boundaries of the local improvement district to be assessed for this improvement is: 391EgBB Tax Lot 400 SECTION 3. The amount of the estimated cost of the improvement made by the city engineer and the proposed allocation of the cost among the owners of the properties to be specially benefitted is: Such improvements will be in accordance with costs estimated to be $60,600.00 of which all will be paid by special assessments on benefitted properties. All costs will be allocated to benefitted tax lot 400 fronting on Central Avenue between Water Street and Helman Street. SECTION 4. The council will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers, Ashland Civic Center, 1175 East Main Street on June 15, 1999, at 7:00 p.m., at which time and place the owners of the benefitted properties may appear or submit written comments prior to or at the hearing as to why the improvement should not be constructed or why the benefitted properties should not be assessed in the manner proposed. SECTION 5. The city recorder is directed to serve notice to the property owners by publishing a notice of the public hearing once in the Daily Tidings, not less than 30 days prior to the hearing, and by mailing copies of the notice by first class mail to the owners of each lot benefitted by the proposed improvement as shown on the latest tax and assessment roll. The notice shall be in'the form of Exhibit "A" attached to this resolution. PROJECT TOTAL $50,500.00 $ 0.00 $50,500.00 $10,100.00 $60,600.00 G:Dawn\StreefiCentral Ave Pre Estimate.wpd EXHIBIT "A" NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The City Council of the City of Ashland will meet on June 15, 1999 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 1175 East Main Street, to hold a public hearing to consider the formation of a local improvement district as follows: NATURE OF THE IMPROVEMENT: Paving, curbs, gutters, storm drains, sidewalk, and associated improvements to Central Avenue from Water Street to Helman Street. BENEFITTED PROPERTY: 391E9BB Tax Lot 400 ESTIMATED COST: The estimated cost of these improvements is $60,600.00, all of which will be allocated to 391E9BB tax lot 400. The specific proposed assessment for this lot is $60,600. Additional information regarding the proposed improvement or method of assessment may be obtained at the Engineering Division, 27% North Main, Ashland, OR, phone number 488-5347, weekdays during the hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. All affected property owners may appear at the hearing or submit written comments prior to or at the hearing, as to why the streets should not be improved or why the benefitted properties should not be assessed in the manner proposed.
